Saving Trees While Improving Sidewalks
As residents of the Costa Mesa area for the last three years, we are delighted to see the upcoming curb and sidewalk improvements to the streets, including Tustin and Santa Ana avenues. This is a much-needed improvement.
However, the planned removal and destruction of all the lovely trees, specifically the large palm trees on Tustin Avenue, is not acceptable. Surely these trees can remain and the sidewalk improvement can be modified and adapted to save these large trees. Progress should not equate with destruction.
Please listen to those of us who wish to see the trees saved--redesign the sidewalk and curb improvements to keep Costa Mesa and the surrounding area a unique and desirable city in which to live.
