The statement in your editorial “Alternatives for Lucas” (Aug. 2) to the effect that Bush says all the right things about civil rights was obviously correct. But why limit it? He also says all the right things about the environment, health care, housing, drugs, etc. but he has yet to “put his money where his mouth is” in any instance.
I am certain his staff was crossing off on its list the names suggested in your editorial--if, indeed, they ever appeared on it.
