A man was found unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound behind an Anaheim apartment complex early Sunday after police followed a trail of blood from a nearby motel.
Joseph Phillip Sanchez, 24, of Anaheim was found with a gunshot wound that severed an artery in his right arm, an Anaheim police spokesman said.
Sanchez was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was reported in serious condition.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at the Tropic Motel, 899 S. Harbor Blvd. They found broken windows in two rooms and a trail of blood that lead them to Sanchez, who was found behind an apartment complex in the 600 block of West Vermont Street, the spokesman said.
