K.C. Jones, a player and coach for the Boston Celtics for 20 years, resigned from the team’s front office to join the Seattle SuperSonics organization.
“Being with the Celtics has been a tremendous experience,” Jones, a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, said in a prepared statement. Jones, who was vice president of basketball operations for the Celtics, will work for Seattle as an assistant coach and consultant to the player personnel director.
