Disney May Buy Henson Associates: Walt Disney Co. is “very” close to reaching agreement to acquire closely held Henson Associates Inc., creator of the Muppets and other characters for a price said to range from $150 million to $200 million, an industry source said. As part of the agreement, founder Jim Henson is expected to agree to a long-term working relationship. Henson could not be reached for comment and Disney Studios Chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg declined comment.
