Secrest Regains Lead in Sixth Day of Race Across AMerica

Mike Secrest of Scottsdale, Ariz., regained the lead Friday in the sixth day of Race Across AMerica, which started in Costa Mesa and will end in New York.
Secrest reached Greenville, Ill., which is 1,922 miles into the race, at 7:46 p.m. (PDT). Secrest had led through the first three days.
In second place is Paul Salon of Tiburon, Calif., who took the lead from Secrest on Wednesday. Solon covered 1,873 miles to reach West Alton, Mo. Bob Breedlove of Des Moines, Iowa, who reached O’Fallon, Mo., is third with 1,835 miles covered.
Susan Notorangelo of Harvard, Ill., one of two women still in the race, is seventh overall with 1,740 miles covered. She passed Jefferson City, Mo. Diane Owens is 22nd overall and covered 1,380 miles to reach Wellington, Kan.
