U.S. and Vietnamese specialists completed the last of a series of seven joint searches for evidence of American soldiers missing in action in Vietnam, but results of the search were not announced. Radio Hanoi said the search covered three provinces in central Vietnam. The hunt for information on 70 cases of missing Americans was conducted under an August, 1987, agreement. Since then, 184 sets of remains believed to be American servicemen have been returned to the United States for further investigation. A total of 1,713 Americans are missing in Vietnam out of 2,347 unaccounted for in Indochina.
