A Los Angeles memorial service for Amanda Blake, star of television’s long-running “Gunsmoke” series who died Wednesday night in Sacramento, has been planned for Saturday by Miss Blake’s manager, Blanche Davis.
Speakers tentatively will include Miss Blake’s series co-stars, actors James Arness and Dennis Weaver, said Ruth Marsh, who is helping Davis with arrangements.
The service, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Mortuary, 1218 Glendon Ave., Los Angeles.
A separate memorial service in Sacramento, where Miss Blake died of cancer at age 60, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Sacramento Garden Chapel, 6100 Stockton Blvd.
