Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to a five-year contract worth between $11 million and $12 million, the Associated Press reported.
Lemieux becomes the second player in the National Hockey League to earn more than $2 million per year. Wayne Gretzky last year agreed to an eight-year contract with the Kings worth $20 million.
