P.M. BRIEFING : Tootsies Sues to Flush Out Tushies

ATLANTA — A Georgia firm that packages toilet paper and calls it Tushie Rolls is being sued by the makers of Tootsie Rolls, who fear that their 93-year effort to market chocolate candies is going down the drain.
Tootsie Rolls Industries Inc., a Chicago candy confectionary, filed suit Tuesday in U.S. District Court against Cloud Nine Promotions Inc., the Alpharetta, Ga., company that produces the gag gift.
Tushie Rolls are wrapped in brown paper with red-orange stripes. When shoppers pull the ends of the large wrapper, out pops a cylinder of white tissue paper rather than an oversized chewy chocolate candy.
