P.M. BRIEFING : Lorillard Names Bulova’s Tisch CEO

NEW YORK — Lorillard Inc. announced today that Andrew H. Tisch has been named chairman and chief executive officer of the $1.8-billion tobacco firm. Tisch was most recently president of Bulova Corp., and will continue to be a director of the watch and defense products company.
J. Robert Ave will remain with Lorillard as president. Ave has been with Lorillard 16 years and had been president and CEO since June, 1985.
Lorillard Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Loews Corp., manufactures Kent, Kent III, Kent Golden Lights, Newport, Newport Stripes, Satin, True, Triumph, Max and Old Gold cigarettes.
