Japanese Reparations

The frustrations of the 60,000 former Japanese internees are shared by several million World War II GIs.

We also have waited for many years for a $20,000 bonus to compensate us for wrenching separations from our families, our homes, our businesses and careers. We similarly shared privations of miserable camps, minimal privacy, searing climate--and much, much more.

Many ex-GIs carry the scars of battle. Others still suffer from their wounds. Older ones are dying at a rate comparable to that of the elder Japanese. Many have already died without recognition for their valiant service to mankind.

So let’s pay the bill to the unfortunate ex-internees. And, let’s have $20,000 each to the remaining GIs who served abroad in World War II, before they too are gone.
