An athlete who took part in the European Cup earlier this month tested positive for drugs, the International Amateur Athletic Federation, track and field’s world governing body announced. The competitor, whom the IAAF refused to name, had tested positive for testosterone, a performance-enhancing male hormone. In accordance with standard procedure, the IAAF’s medical committee would study the data before giving its final verdict in two days.
