After 10 years as anchor of ABC’s “World News Sunday,” Sam Donaldson has hung it up to concentrate on his new “PrimeTime Live” series. He will be succeeded this Sunday by “World News This Morning” co-anchor Forrest Sawyer, ABC said Thursday. Sawyer, who has longed to leave the morning program, will continue on it until early September, when co-anchor Paula Zahn returns from maternity leave and Michael Schneider, a former local New York anchor, joins the program as Sawyer’s replacement. Sawyer, who may get a co-anchor on his new Sunday job, also will become a reporter for “Nightline” and other ABC News programs.
