Northrop Trial Delayed: A federal judge has pushed back the start of a criminal fraud trial against Northrop Corp. and four of its current and former employees to Jan. 9 from Nov. 14. In April, a federal grand jury returned a 167-count indictment alleging that Northrop had falsified tests on components for nuclear-armed cruise missiles and for supplying equipment that the company knew failed to meet government specifications. Northrop was also charged with defrauding the government by improperly testing components for AV-8B Harrier jets used by the Marine Corps. Northrop has denied any wrongdoing and will argue at a hearing Oct. 24 that the case should be dismissed.
