Shot putter Alexander Bagach tested positive for testosterone, a performance-enhancing male hormone, at the European Cup meet in Gateshead, England, this month, costing the Soviet Union a place in the World Cup track and field meet, the International Amateur Athletic Federation said. East Germany will replace the Soviet Union in the World Cup at Barcelona.
