Mother Sentenced for Using Drugs While Pregnant

SANFORD, Fla. — A cocaine-addicted mother convicted of delivering drugs to her two babies through the bloodstream was sentenced Friday to 15 years’ probation and completion of a drug treatment program.
Jennifer Johnson, who faced a maximum 30-year prison sentence, must remain free of drugs, receive periodic testing, complete a high school equivalency education and meet other terms of a lengthy probation program imposed by Seminole County Circuit Judge O. H. Eton Jr.
Johnson, 23, was convicted on July 12 of delivering drugs to her newborns under a criminal drug-dealing law rarely applied in such cases.
