Man Shot in Back During Street Fight

A street fight in Golden Hill escalated into a shooting Saturday night, and a man was rushed into surgery after being shot in the back, police said.
San Diego Police Sgt. Tim Smith said an argument between two men began about 7:45 p.m. at 25th Street and Broadway and that one of them was shot once in the back. The victim ran about a block to C Street before he collapsed, Smith said.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately known, was found by officers and was rushed to Mercy Hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said. The assailant fled.
