Prince Norodom Sihanouk has resigned as head of his three-party Cambodian resistance faction on the eve of a last-gasp round of peace talks in Paris, diplomatic sources said. Sources at the 19-nation Cambodia peace conference, expected to end a month’s wrangling this week with a bid by foreign ministers to salvage a settlement, said the significance of the prince’s move was not immediately clear. Neither Sihanouk nor his aides could be reached for comment.
