Costa Mesa : Orange Coast College Names Vocational Dean

Orange Coast College has named Richard A. Chard as its new associate dean of vocational and occupational education.
Chard, who has been a professor of computer drafting technology at the college for six years, will manage the college vocational and occupational programs, which include machine technology, nutritional care, photography and welding. He will also supervise the preparation of funding proposals for his programs.
Chard joined Orange Coast College in 1980 as a drafting instructor after teaching industrial arts in the Long Beach Unified School District for 24 years. He is a member of the California Industrial Education Assn.
Chard earned his bachelor and master of arts degrees in industrial arts at Cal State Long Beach.
