Assemblywoman Marian W. La Follette (R-Northridge) was “resting comfortably” Thursday after doctors removed two benign tumors, an aide said.
The surgery took place Wednesday at an undisclosed Los Angeles-area hospital, said aide Rob Wilcox, who gave no other details.
Assemblywoman Sally Tanner (D-Baldwin Park) told colleagues on the Assembly floor Wednesday of La Follette’s surgery.
La Follette came through the operation “with flying colors” and is expected to recover in the next four to six weeks, Wilcox said. She will remain hospitalized for several more days, he said.
La Follette is relieved that the tumors were benign and generally is “feeling really well,” Wilcox said.
