Actress Pauline Collins, the star of Paramount’s “Shirley Valentine,” has received a Discovery Award from the Los Angeles Film Teachers Assn. The award salutes Collins “for her tour-de-force performance in ‘Shirley Valentine,’ the movie that reminds us how important it is not to lose touch with our dreams,” said Alice La Deane, LAFTA president.
