Chinese Pilot Defects

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A Chinese air force pilot flew his MIG-19 jet fighter to the Nationalist-held offshore island of Quemoy and defected to the Taiwan government Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said. He was identified as Lt. Jiang Wenhao, 24, who was based at Longxi airport in Fujian province.
