Di Giorgio on the Block: The San Francisco-based food and building materials company said it is seeking formal proposals for sale of all or part of the company from several interested parties. Di Giorgio, parent of White Rose foods, did not say who has expressed interest. The company last month rejected as inadequate an unsolicited $32-a-share, or $163 million, offer made by an investor group led by Arthur Goldberg. That offer has been extended to Sept. 20. Di Giorgio had revenue of $1.05 billion in 1988 and $565 million in the first six months of 1989. The company distributes food through its White Rose Food division, processes and sells specialty meats through its Cerando division and makes and sells various building materials through its DG Mouldings, BiltBest Windows and Las Plumas Lumber divisions.
