Emmy Wins Top Spot in Nielsen Early Rating

The 41st annual Emmy Awards telecast on Fox Broadcasting was the top-rated program in its three-hour time slot Sunday night in the overnight ratings of the 20 largest TV markets, the A.C. Nielsen Co. reported Monday. The national ratings, which often result in lower figures, will be released today.
The Emmy ceremonies attracted 25% of the available audience between 8 and 11 p.m. in the 20 cities, compared to 21% for CBS, 17% for ABC and 16% for NBC. The telecast was seen in about1 million homes in Los Angeles.
