Charity Fund-Raiser Nancy Foerster Dies at 61; Services Set for Saturday

Nancy Foerster of Newport Beach, a prominent figure in art and charity fund raising around Orange County, has died after a long illness. She was 61.
Foerster died Tuesday night. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Pacific View Mortuary in Newport Beach.
Foerster was past president of Las Marineras, the fund-raising arm of Tustin-based Family Service Assn. of Orange County. The money went to support the nonprofit organization’s counseling services.
Foerster was also active in the art world, volunteering her services on the Newport Harbor Art Museum’s fund-raising museum council.
Foerster worked with various Assistance leagues in Orange and Los Angeles counties and headed a local chapter of the sorority organization Kappa Alpha Theta, said longtime friend Barbara Bishop.
Foerster, who was divorced, leaves her daughter, Amy Foerster of Redondo Beach; her son, Judson Foerster of Irvine, and her sister, Jean Kane of Williamsburg, Va., Bishop said.
