HOUSTON — An Idaho engineering firm, a French company and a group of Texas businessmen have joined forces for the proposed construction of a $2.2-billion high-speed rail link from Houston to Dallas.
The plan will be detailed in a series of news conferences today in Houston, Dallas and Austin.
It is the first of at least two such plans that will be proposed to the Texas High-Speed Rail Authority. The second group, a West German consortium, is expected to announce its plans in a few weeks.
