A two-car collision in Canyon Country on Thursday left a woman dead and her husband in serious condition, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Doris Rawlings, 71, of Canyon Country was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Soledad Canyon Road at Reuther Avenue, Lt. Dennis Burns said. Lee Rawlings, 74, driver of one car, was in fair condition at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, Burns said.
The accident occurred as Rawlings made a U-turn from the westbound lane of Soledad. Their car was struck by an auto heading east on Soledad, Deputy Bruce Sonnenblick said.
The driver of the second car, Matt Hayes, 27, of Canyon Country, was not injured.
