Grant 32, Marshall Fundamental 7--Running back Shawn Booker rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Marlowe Lewis rushed for 96 yards as the Lancers (3-0) scored on four of their final five possessions at Pasadena City College.
Grant trailed, 7-6, with 9:42 left in the third quarter, despite outgaining Marshall Fundamental, 227 yards to 47, in the first half. Grant turned the ball over five times in the first half.
Lewis then hooked up with receiver Josh Kesselman on a 66-yard scoring pass. Kesselman also scored Grant’s first touchdown, on a nine-yard pass from Lewis in the first quarter.
Booker’s touchdown--a two-yard run in the fourth quarter--gave the Lancers a 25-7 advantage. Lewis later scored on a one-yard dive.
Hish Thomas scored on a three-yard run in the third quarter for Marshall Fundamental (0-4).
