Son, ‘Hit Man’ Hanged in Slaying of Father

DAMASCUS, Syria — A man who murdered his father so he could inherit the family tissue paper factory was hanged Saturday in the main square of the northern city of Aleppo, the government newspaper reported.
Bakri Youssef Shawa was executed in public along with an accomplice, Abdul-Hamid Kala, a professional killer to whom Youssef paid $750 to assist in the slaying of Youssef Shawa, the paper Tishrin said.
The two men stabbed and shot their victim repeatedly, dismembered the body and then burned it, the paper said.
