The New York Mercantile Exchange named R. Patrick Thompson as its new president. He replaces Rosemary T. McFadden, who resigned in July. Thompson had been executive vice president of the exchange and its chief of staff since McFadden’s departure. Before then, he was supervisory attorney for the New York regional office of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission division of enforcement.
