Paramount : Bus to Be Bought for Youth Summer Trips to the Beach
- Share via
The Paramount City Council has approved the purchase of a 48-passenger bus to take youths free of charge to the beach next summer as part of the city’s anti-gang program.
The bus, which will cost $95,700, will be bought with Proposition A funds, the half-cent county sales tax for transit projects. It will be bought from A-Z Bus Sales Inc. of Colton.
The bus will operate seven days a week, taking youths to and from Seal Beach in an attempt to give them something constructive to do with their time during the summer and prevent them from participating in gang activities, said a spokesman for the city.
