Gahr Rolls Over Sonora Despite Lewis’ Heroics
- Share via
Quarterback Ryan Lewis threw two touchdown passes and kicked a field goal, but it wasn’t enough as Sonora High School lost to host Gahr, 34-16, Friday night in Hanford Rants Stadium in Cerritos.
Gahr’s Al McGuire returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and later scored on a 50-yard run with a fumble recovery as Gahr won its first homecoming game in six years.
Sonora was playing without four starters who were suspended earlier in the week by Principal Ken Stitcher for their role in a bench-clearing brawl last week against Brea-Olinda.
