TOKYO — Led by Randy Pedersen’s 226 average, four Americans took the top four places today, the first day of the Japan Cup, a bowling competition among 32 U.S. and Japanese pros.
Pedersen, of Santa Monica, won all eight of his games, knocking down 1,807 pins. With bonus points, he had a 2,047 total.
David Ferraro of Kingston, N.Y., was next with 1,851 pins and a 2,031 total after winning six games and losing two. Walter Ray Williams Jr., Stockton, stood third with 1,811 pins and a 1,991 total, followed by Dave Husted of Milwaukie, Ore., with 1,760 pins and a 1,940 total.
