Charges were filed against a Redondo Beach man this week, alleging that he ran a nationwide steroid distribution ring from his apartment overlooking King Harbor.
John Aldo Disanto, 31, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in South Bay Municipal Court to one count of possession of steroids for sale. He is free on $20,000 bail.
Redondo Beach police said Disanto, an engineer for a Westlake Village firm, sold the muscle-building drugs through the mail.
Police said they received a tip that Disanto was selling the drugs. When they went to his apartment building on Yacht Club Way late last month, they said they saw a box of vials marked “Testosterone” on the front seat of his car.
They used the information to obtain a search warrant.
Police said they found more than 50,000 doses of steroids in vials, capsules, syringes and powders inside the apartment. They also confiscated $36,000 in cash, a shotgun and two pistols.
