LOCAL : Man Dies of Apparent Overdose After Breaking Into Valley Home

A man died of what appeared to be a drug overdose early today after breaking into a Pacoima home where he was captured by startled residents and held for police, authorities said.
The man, whose identity was withheld until relatives could be notified, forced his way into the house in the 13400 block of Desmond Street about 1:30 a.m., Lt. Maurice Rubio said.
“He was apparently under the influence of some unknown drug,” Rubio said.
Residents managed to capture the man and hold him until police arrived, he said. It was not known if the man was armed.
The man was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills where he died a short time later.
