Crescenta Valley Faces Key League Test
Crescenta Valley High, which has never won a Pacific League football title, will try to remain undefeated in league play when the Falcons play Pasadena tonight at 7:30 at Glendale High.
Even Coach Jim Beckenhauer has been surprised by the Falcons’ fast start. Crescenta Valley is 5-1, 1-0 in league play, but has not defeated Pasadena since 1981. Pasadena is 1-4-1 and beat Glendale last week in its league opener.
Crescenta Valley is led by quarterback Ryan Kadletz, who has completed 40 of 81 passes for 673 yards and eight touchdowns.
Another surprising Valley team also will try to stay in first place when Moorpark (5-1, 1-0) plays St. Bonaventure (1-5, 0-1) in a Tri-Valley League game tonight at 7:30 at Larrabee Stadium in Ventura. The Musketeers are led by running back Tony Upshaw, who has rushed for 725 yards.
