A Cold Finish Finishes Off Clippers, 95-91

CHICO, Calif. — Danny Ainge broke an 88-88 tie and scored six of his 24 points in the final 2:57 of the game to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 95-91 exhibition victory over the Clippers on Friday night.
The Clippers, losers of four of their first five exhibition games, led most of the way, once by 14 points in the second quarter. But they scored only 33 in the second half and just three points in the last three minutes.
The Clippers were outscored, 20-10, in the fourth quarter. Ainge scored 11 of his 24 points in that time.
Charles Smith led the Clippers with 25 points for the second consecutive night. He also had 10 rebounds.
Sacramento has a 1-3 exhibition record.
The teams meet again Sunday night at Redding, Calif.
