An 18-year-old Tustin man was arrested at his home on Sunday on suspicion of shooting and wounding another Tustin man last Thursday, police reported.
Officers said the suspect, Paul Supancheck, was arrested without incident at 11 a.m. at his home in the 14000 block of Cherrywood Lane. He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, officers said.
Supancheck is accused of firing a shotgun three times at 19-year-old Chealvy Ly as Ly was playing basketball with a friend at Magnolia Tree Park. Ly suffered gunshot wounds in the right arm and legs, police said. The gunman fled after the shooting.
At the time, the shooting baffled police, who said there appeared to be no motive for it. On Sunday, officers said the motive for the shooting is still undetermined and is under investigation.
