CITY SECTION FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Booker Keys Grant’s 7th Victory

Running back Shawn Booker led all rushers with 128 yards in 24 carries to spark Grant High to its seventh consecutive victory, a 21-7 win over Birmingham in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game Friday night.
Grant (7-0, 3-0 in league play) scored on drives of 56, 41 and 76 yards engineered by Marlowe Lewis. The Lancers’ quarterback rushed 10 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns and completed three of eight passes for 15 yards.
Birmingham’s only score came on a 13-play, 79-yard drive that was capped by a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Danny Larson to wide receiver Jake Brescher. Larson was 14 of 28 for 163 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. Brescher caught six passes for 75.
