LONG BEACH — Next fall, every student attending an elementary or middle school in the Long Beach and Los Alamitos unified school districts will receive a copy of KIDSGUIDE, a recreation and community service directory created by the PTAs of the districts.
The 1990-91 edition of the award-winning directory will be its third publication and will expand from a book size format to a magazine size publication.
The 1990 KIDSGUIDE directory will include more than 100 pages of updated information on healthy alternatives and options for children and teen-agers such as recreation programs, before- and after-school child care, vacation activities, community and emergency services, parent education, health and safety tips, family events and more.
Fund-raising for the new edition is under way. Sponsorships for individuals, local businesses, corporations and youth service agencies are being sought. Contributors will receive space within the directory to highlight their organization, public service information.
