AUCKLAND, New Zealand — A full-scale dress rehearsal for next year’s Auckland Commonwealth Games was conducted without any major organizational problems, officials said Sunday.
Operation Checkout featured tests at venues and operational centers throughout Auckland, involving 5,000 volunteer officials.
Checkout was designed to put people and systems under pressure to see how they coped with a wide range of incidents and to familiarize officials with their tasks during the Games, which begin Jan. 25.
