SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Social Services Office Won’t Be Shut Down
- Share via
The Orange County social services office in San Juan Capistrano has been given a new lease on life.
Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Thomas F. Riley announced Tuesday that the office will remain open at least through March, 1990. Its future had been in doubt because its current lease was to expire this December.
Riley last month had promised to continue providing basic welfare services at the small office in San Juan Capistrano while the Board of Supervisors considers opening a full-service office in Laguna Hills.
Riley said Tuesday’s extension ensures that there will be no interruption in social services for South County residents. Funding for the proposed Laguna Hills office will be considered by the Board of Supervisors early next year.
