Los Angeles police today were looking for a convicted burglar in the beating death of a woman found in her Van Nuys apartment.
The body of Emily Krevi, 34, was found by her brother about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the apartment in the 6900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Detective Jim Vojtecky said. The brother checked the apartment after Krevi’s neighbors became concerned when newspapers piled up at her apartment door over the weekend.
Vojtecky said that Krevi was apparently beaten to death a few days earlier and that there were signs of a struggle in the apartment. He said evidence and statements from residents in Krevi’s building led investigators to begin looking for Donald Max Kuehn, 29, who lived in an apartment building next door.
Vojtecky said investigators will seek a warrant Thursday charging Kuehn with murder.
