Chavez Cites Fonda as a Longtime Champion of the Farm Worker
- Share via
I’m not a film critic nor do I pretend to be, so I’ll let the critics review “Old Gringo.” But I am a friend of Jane Fonda and have been so for nearly 20 years.
Jane is a tireless champion of the underdog, especially farm workers. Through the years, during many of our most perilous times, Jane has never failed to come to our aid.
While we may have different views of “Old Gringo,” we must remember that it was written by a Mexican, Carlos Fuentes.
CESAR E. CHAVEZ, President, United Farm Workers of American AFL-CIO, Keene, Calif.
