Burroughs 23, Burbank 19--Danny Suarez rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns in 10 carries to lead Burroughs over its cross-town rival at Burroughs.

Burroughs (3-6, 2-2) built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, scoring two touchdowns within 19 seconds. After Suarez, a senior running back, scored on an 11-yard run with 4:43 to play in the period, Cliff Parker recovered a Burbank fumble on the Bulldogs’ next offensive play and returned it seven yards for a score at the 4:24 mark.

Burbank (1-7-1, 0-4) cut the lead to 14-7 in the second quarter when quarterback Jason Chandler scored on a one-yard run. But Burroughs put the game away in the third period when running back Randye Rand of Burbank was tackled in the end zone by Roberto Vasquez for a safety.
