Arias’ Passing Leads Fullerton’s 24-0 Victory

BUENA PARK — Quarterback Rene Arias passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fullerton High School to a 24-0 victory over Buena Park in a Freeway League football game in front of 400 Friday at Buena Park.
Arias started the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Chris Escalera with 2:51 left in the first quarter.
Fullerton went ahead, 14-0, when Arias threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to John Bailey with 4:50 left in the half.
Bailey added a 22-yard field goal with seven seconds left in the first half to give Fullerton a 17-0 lead. Arias, a senior, completed 14 of 28 passes. He also had one pass intercepted.
Marcus Roberson capped the scoring with a two-yard dive in the third quarter. Fullerton had 244 yards in total offense to 107 for Buena Park.
Fullerton is 6-3 overall and 2-2 in league play. Buena Park is 2-7, 1-3.
