Did anyone else notice the two adjacent headlines (Oct. 28) “2 Uninsured Heart Patients Need $80,000 to Get on Transplant List” and “Measure M’s War Chest at $1.8 Million?”
What is going on here? Human beings may die because of a lack of money, while developers contribute $1.8 million to sway the public into voting for a measure that will help them make even more millions than they have already made.
So many Orange County residents speak of “traditional values” when what they really mean is to deny equal rights to any group they personally disapprove of. How about some real traditional values, such as caring about our fellow man?
Something is very wrong with a society that values making money over helping the less fortunate.
