Continental Airlines Inc.: The Houston-based carrier’s third-quarter net income more than doubled from a year ago to $43.5 million. The latest results included non-recurring gains, principally asset sale gains, of $11.3 million; a year ago, the company had $9.2 million in one-time gains. Revenue totaled $1.34 billion, up 6%. The firm, a unit of Texas Air Corp., credited the results to greater pricing discipline.
