First Executive Corp.: The life insurance holding company’s third-quarter net income climbed 14% from a year ago to $53.2 million. However, profit for 1988 has been restated to comply with new life insurance accounting rules, which reduced net income by $6.2 million for the year-ago period. Revenue totaled $605.1 million, up 14%. The Los Angeles firm attributed results in part to increased sales of annuities and guaranteed investment credits.
